A senior Israeli officer was killed and another critically wounded by sniper fire from Lebanese gunman/gunmen near the Israel/Lebanon border. The unprovoked attack occurred while Israeli troops were clearing vegetation near the border. A UNIFIL spokesman reported on the event here.
